8/23/26: Came here with my buddy for a meal. Had a taste for chicken and some sushi after having it 2 weeks prior. I got the Chicken Katsu and some tuna and salmon sushi. Came with miso soup. The soup was good, but not that savory like I expected. The chicken was also good, but the assortment of items it came with was questionable to me. It came with rice, cabbage, cucumber slices, sliced tomatoes, and apple slices? As I was eating it I realized that aside from the rice, there was no cohesion of the items on the plate; it just didn't make sense. The place I went 2 weeks ago, Totoro in Ann Arbor, the katsu I got there was not only good, but the side dishes that came with made sense. Here.... I was certainly not impressed. Sushi was on the better end of 'okay', but felt like they were a bit too thin for my tastes. My buddy had the tofu yaki. He said it was good, but too greasy. Server was okay. He did check on us regularly, but that was it; just solid, standard service. Would go back for their sushi, but anything else, maybe i'll seek out a different restaurant. They are highly rated for a reason, but I wasn't able to see why with the dish I ordered.

Nazem, the manager was our server and he was able to spot that we were here for our first time. He greeted us with a smile and gave us time to look over the menu. He told us he a suprise for us at the end of our meal... but wow the sushi we ordered was delicious. We also had the coconut shrimp. It was fantastic! After we finished he suprised us with an epic ice cream. We let him know it was my birthday and we can here to celebrate and we all laughed because he didn't even know it was. It was a fun birthday dinner. Thank you again for the wonderful smiles Nazem. It was a great experience.

This was ny first time coming here & I was very impressed. I love that they have booths as most new restaurants dont do booths anymore. The food was quick to come out & everything was on point. An honorable mention is the "yum yum roll" its so so soooo good. I woke up thinking about it the next day. It was amazing & I will definitely return & they are not over priced like most places ! I got a good amount of food for $72 for me and my husband & we ordered 3 appetizers & 3 rolls of sushi & 2 drinks. I will return.

Oyaki delivers exactly what you want from a great sushi spot. Even though the restaurant was busy, we were seated quickly, which set the tone right away. The house salad was surprisingly loaded with flavorβsimple, fresh, and well done. The sushi is fresh, and the sashimi is absolutely spot onβclean cuts, great texture, and clearly high-quality fish. Service really stood out too: friendly, attentive, and you can tell the staff genuinely supports one another, which makes the whole experience feel welcoming and well-run. Busy for a reasonβand worth it. π£
